Remember When?

Thursday, January 19, 2006

What do you remember from a relationship? Is it just the good parts, the fun, the love, the stolen kiss, the long walk or is it the bad parts, the fights, the arguments, the tears? For the most part I can say I remember mostly good parts in my past relationships and only the major bad parts and even those fade everyday. The last time I was at a formal with a g/f was for a dance actually at a sorority. I don't really know why I remember that but I do and for the most part I think i am able to recall most of the events of my past relationships. I've been a lot better lately about things of this nature, although I wouldn't say I'm ready for a relationship I think I am finally able to look at the last relationship not as something painful but with an almost indifference. Like a old man look back at parts of his life and go hmmm I remember that girl I wonder whatever happen to her. The part that I'm more curious about is if I'm able to go out there and do it again. I'm at a point similar to after getting hurt you go well I'm not going to do that for a while, even though I really like doing it. Its not that you think its bad, just not something for you anymore. I'm ok with that for now, I know I love it too much to ever give it up completely but I think minimal involvement is all that I can handle. I was joking with a friend of mine that it would be so messed up if the next time I fall in love, something horrible would happen to the girl and I would lose her not due to her or me but to something completely outside of our control. I think at that point I would swear off relationships forever.
